Introduction

The JAAM-2 DIC scoring algorithm is based on the JAAM DIC algorithm but excludes the Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome [SIRS] data, Fibrinogen levels and has additional modifications.

The JAAM-2 DIC Algorithm:

Select Criteria:

Platelet Count
<80 x 109/L or >50% decrease within 24 hrs
3 Points
≥80 - <120 x 109/L or >30% decrease within 24 hrs
1 Point
FDPs [µg/mL] or D-dimer
≥25 µg/mL 3 Points
≥10 - <25 µg/mL
1 Point
Prothrombin Time ratio [PT]
≥1.2
1 Point

Score
[Max score 7]

JAAM-2 DIC Score
≥3 Supports a diagnosis of DIC
