The BENTLEY Score

Introduction:

The BENTLEY score is a risk prediction model for TTP that was derived from a retrospective analysis of 110 patients that included 11 patients with severe ADAMTS13 deficiency.  Five parameters - see below - were found to be predictive of severe ADAMTS13 deficiency.

The BENTLEY Score:

Select Criteria:

Creatinine >2.0 mg/dL
-11.5 points
Platelet Count >35 x 109/L
-30 points
D-dimer >4.0 µg/mL
-10 points
Reticulocyte Count >3%
21 points
Unconjugated [Indirect] Bilirubin >1.5 mg/dL
20.5 points

Score

[Max Score 41.5]

Interpretation
<10 points 0% risk of TTP
20-30 points 40% risk of TTP
 >30 points 100% risk of TTP
